Virtual NC -Areawide Christmas Party Organizing the areawide Christmas party was special in so many ways. You would think that going through several virtual assemblies, teachings, and CLPs would lead to yet another usual virtual event. But we intentionally challenged ourselves to elevate the experience. After all, that’s what a Christmas party is all about, a time of merriment, fun, fellowship over delectable food, carols, parol-making contest, and line-dancing. And oh, we did all of that, except for the sharing of actual meals and filling our tummies to our heart’s content.
The theme for this year, “The Best of CFC-NC Christmas Party” was conceptualized to bring back the beautiful and enriched CFC community life we have had through the years. After all, this was the best time to journey back in time as we were traversing through the season of a great pandemic era. Other than talking about the obvious grim of events surrounding the lingering fear of COVID-19, global economic, social and political unrest, and the frenzy of the concluded US election results, we were ready for just about any distraction we can focus on. The collection of previous montages depicting the countless life-giving activities from different ministries through the years reminded our community of the richness of our culture and the depth of the love, faith, and dedication each of us has poured in. It was nostalgic looking through the past smiles and sheer joy in service for the Lord that it brought tears and words choked by one of the virtual EMCEES who is a member of the very first HH established in NC in June of 2005.
In the same token, presenting our new VCLP graduates from East and West Chapter, carols from KFC members, and socially and spiritually-themed content from current households and units proved the resilient spirit of our community rising beyond the unprecedented challenges of our lifetime.
The event brought us the history of our rich past, helped us strengthen our present ways of enduring the test of times while leaving us hopeful to experience the beauty and promise of tomorrow in a Christ life-centered existence. Through it all, with the triumphs and tragedies that come our way, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8.
