The pandemic shook our world in numerous ways—including how we conduct our Household Meetings. Everybody felt how different the virtual Household Meetings conducted through Zoom, Google Meets, or Facebook Messenger were because it lacked the “personal touch” of face-to-face meetings we are so fond of. “So there’s really NO WAY a Virtual CLP (VCLP) program would work, especially at this time of the pandemic!” That was the response most of us had when we first learned that we were called to conduct a CLP.
After our initial hesitation, prayers, and understanding that to bring God’s Words to others are more important now more than ever, the Service Team went to work. Throughout the entire eight weeks of the program and the weeks before that were spent to plan, we had meetings twice or thrice a week to prepare. Every Friday, the day of the CLP, from Sept. 25 thru Nov. 13, was the big day. It was like the opening night of a major production each week since we did not have any idea how it would turn out or what issues we may run into. Lo and behold, our awesome God blessed us with technical teams, music ministry, and prayer warriors to keep us going every week.
When we first heard about the task, we were also very concerned that we may not have any participants knowing that people have too much on their plate already coping with challenges brought by Covid. However, God’s grace brought us participants from all over the United States (NC, Texas, Ohio, NY, and Michigan) and from Canada, Philippines, and Australia! We cannot help but marvel at God’s hand through it all as the participants come back week after week. More so, when we had such a powerful and spirit-filled session on Receiving the Power of the Holy Spirit! After eight weeks, we dedicated eight CFCs, seven HOLDs, one SFC, and one SOLD. When the participants shared their experiences after the CLP, they mentioned that hearing God’s Words and rediscovering His love through the talks and discussions were just what they needed. With the quarantine brought by the pandemic, they are also looking forward to this new community they have found. They are looking forward to meet everyone in person and exchange real hugs once the pandemic is over! Who would have thought that the smiles, encouragements, hugs, and prayers exchanged even virtually would be so powerful and meaningful!
As written on Matthew 19:26, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” This VCLP was indeed a testament to that. God showed us once again that there is no task that we cannot accomplish if we dedicate it to Him! All He needs is our Yes to His call and He will supply us with all that we need to accomplish it.
