Servant Leaders Meet To Plan For 2021

The Area Planning and Retreat for North Carolina was conducted on December 4-5, 2020 with the theme “One” –  One with God, One with your family, One with your household, One with your community and with One Goal.  We can all be strong when we are one and united as a Body of Christ.

The planning was held in 3 different sessions:
(1) Friday, Dec 4  – the leaders met to watch the movie “Remember the Goal”, a light movie that follows a new coach who takes over the girls cross country program at a Christian school and attempts to lead them to a state title. This movie illustrates the verse in 1Corinthians 10:31, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God’s glory”. A fitting reminder to our servant leaders of why we serve in our community, and how we can relate this movie to our ‘goal’, our ‘service’ and our ‘calling’.
(2) Saturday, Dec 5 morning – the leaders and ministry heads attended a Holy Hour to offer and start the day’s proceeding. They then met to discuss and summarize achievements, victories and challenges for the year 2020. During this time, all existing and new leaders and ministry heads were introduced. A portion of the session was also dedicated to a retrospection on things that should be addressed for 2021. During this time, each chapters also discussed ‘what activities in 2020 helped the community’ and ‘what could be improved’ for the coming year.
(3) Saturday, Dec 5 evening – the last session starts with a Holy Mass and then immediately followed by the presentation of plans and initiatives for 2021 from each directorate and chapters. Everyone was reminded to keep our area calendar up-to-date. For 2021, we will be holding quarterly checkpoints to track our progress based on what we had planned and adjust as needed. Our regional head (Bro. Dave Guirao) proceeded then to pray over everyone, ending the whole session.

The reflection song, “Is He Worthy” which was played during the last session of planning set off our leaders to look forward and trust that no matter what darkness our world brings, it will not stop our God’s light from getting through. Let us all “Remember the goal”.
